THE FAMILY

The inspiration for this came from a YouTube video by Sunset Crafts. Theres lots of other ideas on her channel that are well worth looking at.

The circles on the video are too big so I reduced it to fit the Sizzix circle dies I had. It now measures 5 and a half inches square with a tab hinge from Washi Tape.

I cut the papers with alternative contrasting colours and added the Halloween Washi tape tabs.

All Paper Dolls are positioned and the backs are distressed and stamped to avoid the white showing before sticking.

Back of the Book

Covering the backs of the paper dolls makes it more interesting than having the simple backgrounds.

Distressed the back page with Vintage Photo and then added the text stamp with Black soot.

Once the paper dolls are glued I added flowers, butterflies and snippets. I used Snippets to partially cover the backs of the paper dolls.

Page Three

The addition of ephemera for the Paper Dolls to stand on adds to the layout and grounds the dolls. Other snippets and cut out ephemera adds tinters to the pages.

The central characters sit on the bottom of the smallest circle with flowers round the edge of the circle.

The final touch to the book was hand painting the paper dolls with a mix of Distressed ink and water.
