Crazy Birds – crafts
Crazy Birds
Where did it start? Tidy stash paper box day, it’s cold outside. Last Christmas I made Christmas cards Mica Spray and had a handful left. What comes next? My box of dies, I spotted the Silhouette Bird Dies which are just the right size.

Mica sprayed heavy card stock using
Tart Cranberry – Fresh Balsam – Cocktail Party – Merry Mint – Shiny Bauble – Winter Frost..

From each small sheet I cut two birds in most cases.
Checked to remove the cutouts between the legs

Now to decorate them. I love the Abstract Shapes Die and it's perfect for having a bit of fun. I cut most of these from the cards Left from the birds cut outs.
All the decoration outs went into a tray. I love exploring the possibilities.

Each bird was decorated considering the opposite colours. Red - Green and Green - Red.

Shaded with a quick Distress Oxide wipe.

The finishing touches added after they're mounted to give it a bit mo. This gave me the opportunity to add bits to create a whole story and balance the composition.
The final step is to mount them onto a natural white heavy card stock.

Materials Used

Dies – Silhouette Birds – Abstract Shapes
Embossing Folders – Mechanics – Numbers – Typewriter
Distress Oxide Inks – Old Paper – Speckled Egg – Brushed Corduroy

A Little Extra

There's lots of paper with the Cut Outs on left over. Can't throw them away. Not all are useable but some are.
My choice was Craft Consortium - Ink Drops Dusk & Ink Drops Ocean. You can make your own with Distressed Inks.

Select the cut out sheet, choose a background. The Background paper are a personal choice and glue then trim, I rounded the corners too. I wasn't very careful placing my dies but next time I will.
